my problem though would occur while just holding the clutch fully disengaged, but not consistantly. sometimes. it was like wavering between doing it and not. but it sounded just like the duck you describe. i did the whole job just to replace the pilot bushing, it went away for about 5,000 miles, and then came back. at that point i replaced the entire clutch AND throw out bearing again (with pilot bushing of course), and the noise has been gone now for quite some time. my point is, the noise may well be your pilot bushing or throw out bearing (mine didn't look bad but i still suspect it), but go ahead and change the whole clutch.
